Sarah Kaspari Baker, a 47-year-old family NP from Bismarck, N.D., provides primary care at the Northland Community Health Clinic in McClusky, N.D., as well as trauma care in the emergency department of St. Alexius hospital in Bismarck. She was invited on a medical mission by the founders of a clinic on Gonave Island (La Gonave) in Haiti, in the town of Anse-Ã -Galets. The earthquake struck while she was working at the clinic, and she was able to help victims of the quake before returning home on January 18, 2010. "Nobody in Haiti turns somebody else away if they can help," she says.
