NPs are finding more opportunities in orthopedics. There is even a fellowship for NPs interested in further education, such as at University of North Carolina's Nurse Practitioner Fellowship in Orthopedics. Michael Zychowicz, NP, who recently joined the faculty at Duke University School of Nursing as the Adult NP Specialty Director, has worked in clinical practice in orthopedics and sports medicine, and plans to open his own orthopedics practice. I am a chiropractor and attending school to receive my BSN. I hope to start the MSN program in Jan. I was hoping you could provide some info pertaining to the Orthopedic fellowship. I know it's a bit premature to be thinking about, but the program I plan on taking is 15 months long, which can go by quickly. Thank you in advance for sending any available information.

This was an excellent article for me as I just interviewed for a position with a private practice in ortho. I am having difficulty finding information regarding the expected salary for such a role. Any suggestions or links? I would be the only NP in the practice and it is with a well-established ortho surgeon in Manhattan. I am a new grad, however I don't want to underbid my worth in the role. Please help me...thank you.
