Thank you for your interest in the fifth annual Nurse Practitioner Entrepreneur of the Year competition, presented by ADVANCE for Nurse Practitioners. This coveted award recognizes outstanding achievements by NPs who have established their own business.
Grand prize is $1,000 and a profile in an upcoming issue of ADVANCE! Runners-up will be awarded $200 and a profile in ADVANCE for these categories:
- ONE TO WATCH -- An especially innovative or ambitious new practice
- OUTSIDE THE BOX -- A nonclinical, healthcare-related business

Don't forget, submissions are due by July 30, 2010!
The Nurse Practitioner Entrepreneur of the Year competition is open to any nurse practitioner who is owner of a health care-related business. The contest isn't limited to clinical practices; NPs with nonclinical services that fulfill the goals below are also invited to apply. The winner will be selected based on the NP's excellence in business and leadership as demonstrated by the following:
- an innovative business plan that has the potential to make a significant contribution to improving the health and well-being for a community;
- the ability to overcome challenges and setbacks in areas such as financing and capitalization, human resources, marketing, credentialing, reimbursement or a restrictive practice environment;
- the ability to meet financial and other business goals; and
- the ability to increase visibility of the nurse practitioner profession.
