Achieving Earlier Entry to Hospice Care: Issues and Strategies

Date: This offering will be presented as a live, virtual event on June 11 at 1 p.m., ET.

Summary: Hospice has been shown to improve patient care and support family at the end of life. However, many patients enroll within a week of death, which is too late to maximize the benefits of hospice services. The presentation will look at the barriers and strategies to provide earlier access to hospice.

Following the webinar, our speaker will take part in an interactive Q&A session, so come prepared with your questions on achieving earlier entry to hospice care.

Objectives:
* Describe the benefits of hospice.
* List at least three barriers to early hospice care.
* List at least two strategies to early hospice admission.

Speaker:
Sonia Lee, APN, GCNS-BC, is a nurse practitioner/clinical nurse specialist at Midwest Palliative & Hospice Care Center, Glenview, IL. She indicates no affiliations with any commercial entities, directly or indirectly related to this presentation.
